and today I'm going to be talking to you about my classes in what I offer Here I Am the teacher who offers to the Office of Management and a teaching as a profession classes they are all great opportunities here at Tellico Plains High School that you can shoes as your pathway that you want to go towards in your awesome High School career going to get in my name is Miss Grant I just want to talk a little bit about me and who I am very big and important to me how do you think I should take this so first of all I have three older sisters One Pilot was a PCA another one she works at the local library and she also works for the Monroe County buzz and I think it's a great to have all those different professions and everything because that helps me give you opportunities to see different types of jobs and careers that you can choose from another great when I got here my husband and he actually works for the local 43 out of Chattanooga he does pipe fitting and Welding so I know a little bit on all sides to help you kind of get where you need to go that's one great thing about our CTE Pathways at you choose yet Circle Pines High School there's so many choices that you can pick that are customized for you and what you enjoy lying so I do have two dogs I have Sarge and then I have she's a feisty we are not so sure I am a mother to a two-year-old little girl and this is her most recent picture but her name is Arie Grace and I talked about her a lot in this classroom just cuz I can't stop my classes that I offer here I have business management business Communications I also teach Computer Applications in Advanced Computer Applications I do a dual enrollment class where you can get the credit if you take the test Pasadena college credit which is amazing I also teaching fundamentals of education class and that goes back to my teaching as a profession new classes that I'm doing this year so I'm going to show you a little bit about my classroom what's up over here some things that the students do in the things that are important to them that they like about this class has classes for business management and Communications it's really help me learn how to talk in front of people and mayonnaise and budget and do everything in the business as a suspect in her class has been really helpful and I'm I took Miss Grand classes for Computer Applications in Advanced Computer Applications and I really learned how do you Microsoft Office and just become more comfortable with public speaking and learning how to do my personal budgeting in this classroom we have 26 computers that you do use every single day in my classes there was awesome. Them is that we do learn how to use all of Microsoft Office programs here so with my computer classes we do offer lots of different things that you can through the computer the first class and want to talk about is my business management class Classen focus on the development of planning leading and controlling functions required actually a manager on business I'm in also just knowing if you're going to go into the manager type position what roles that you will have to take on in that spot a lot of times I like to do in this I have students start up their own business at the school we record all money in and out we also decide what we want to sell its great learning experience because you get to see kind of the ins-and-outs of running a business yourself the other class offer is business communication in this class we really work on developing your communication skills and I don't care where you go or what you do one of the most important things is learning how to communicate effectively that's not just standing and talking to people but is also being able to write effectively can send out information to people so this is a very important class to where we learn how to speak and write effectively I also teach Computer Applications and in this class we really dive into the Microsoft Office programs and we will learn the importance of using those programs and how to use them correctly in order to make new design the new layouts and how to make things look really nice and do it effectively to where we're not having to re fix things multiple times in my Advanced Computer Applications class we do lot of the same macros stop this program that I add to it so we're doing higher work levels we are also starting to add in a little bit of Coatings in here so I do HTML code for website designing and we also do video video editing in this class as in make it a little bit more harder than our previous one I also have my fun meals of education class and in this class is we are really working on training students who may be interested in the education program and I know a lot of people think I don't want to go into education but there is more than just being a teacher with education you can go into training you can be a counselor you can go in so many different meals using this info my kids really like the psychology part of it and learning how others think and what makes them act the way they do and how we can look at that in a class and six are instruction my freshman year anagrams Computer Applications in the intro and up until that point I would never really used any kind of take on any kind of computer I mean I'd use word and PowerPoint you know just playing around but she taught me how to use Excel all of those in the in the office in the Microsoft Office and I loved and I didn't understand most of it but I love that class I have some enjoyed it she just explained it that was very easy for somebody even as far as I am to learn or even somebody who's not is technically in a hat and answers I am I could learn it basically no matter who you are there are so many jobs that you can huge problem in any of my classes to give you a little experience especially computers I just want things like a software engineer going into maybe software and game developing type thing all the computer classes help you see if that's something that you really like and enjoy you can also become and get a teaching degree in counseling degree you can go into business management and actually own your own business to be an entrepreneur you may go into sales in marketing with this type of classes that you enjoy and they're just so many things that you can choose from from knowing what you know in these classes at the club full of opportunities for me I got two along with other students get involved in our downtown area and create a project so that visitors can learn more about what's going on around them and this way our future club members can start getting him off of that is the next thing I'm going to talk about is my club that we have here at the school and there are all kinds of clubs that you can choose from at Tellico Plains High School but the one that I offer is FBLA which is future Business Leaders of America which is an amazing club that is offered here there are competition we usually do a couple trips for I like to take us to behind-the-scenes type scenarios at different companies one year we went to the aquarium when we went to the back seems to see how it's run in the extra things they do there we also went to the zoo and now full and we were able to see how they also work and how they work not just with the animals but on the business side with marketing and sales which it was a great opportunity and we offer those through these clubs here at the school hello and welcome to Tellico Plains High School agriculture Department I'm Listening Room myself Malone with Mr Hamilton or the ones that teach that are full of sugar and service advisors for FFA here at Tellico Plains High School so our culture just means forming or not I'm sure a lot of y'all are sitting here saying I don't want to be a farmer I don't know anything about animals or plants or something like that but there's a whole lot more to it so that our culture does not just mean farming Are Soldiers actually the nation's largest employer and Analysis Sandra more than 24 million people working in some face so this is everything this is not just growing the crops are they rioting in livestock this is everything from starting there till he ends up on the Shelf in package in the people that what caused that to make you decide to buy it as far as him did you know statements less than 2% of our jobs involve traditional farming there are currently Morag jobs available in Fall of five applicants to feel and we have employment opportunities that range from science technology to marketing and Communications outdoor recreation to financial management and that most of these jobs do require our other college degree or some post-secondary training so why don't you take iron for your like if I focus may you are you learned about what an elective focus is from listening to Miss Brown and she's talked to you about and I bet you have how to create a focus for the extra classes on top of what you need to graduate high school and have your college requirements we hope that you'll consider our motto is learning to be thin so we hope that you're going to learn some practical skills that will help you in everyday life and possibly a career and the last thing is it's fine Arizona plants do we offer free classes study for the agriculture free introductory class in the freshman year you need to take it hard it actually is lookout for fire that make it I guess we should give you a couple examples don't be using the shop in every move we have a slag hammer and a wire brush that are always use for stick welding and we have examples of different Grinders that we use in grinding wheels and become flat wire brush in it and here we have just the regular grinder with a rock. talk about a plasma cutter to one of the ways that we process to steal that comes in here we use this to cut the steel into links that are actually usable for kids to weld look at me also have the building at a boil my name is Johnson I am from Tellico Plains Tennessee and I teach it tells Plains High School and I am the hillside teacher in a former X-ray tech which I still have my license I have both full-time 14 years I must be an X-Ray tech but I also love the hours of being a teacher and as an x-ray to check always was teaching other people had to do what I did okay so in the hillsides program there's a several classes you take once you start a career pathway the first one that most people start with his real science and health science is an introduction to the healthcare field when people think about the health Healthcare field they think about just doctors and nurses but there are so many more career options out there and sadly there always an aid for healthcare people I personally love to being a X-ray tech and I really would like be able to spread that knowledge and love helping others to my students at we also learn how to take Vital Signs we learn some Anatomy physiology we learn first aid deals and much much more another one of the classes that I teach is anatomy and physiology and Anatomy is our body physiology is how our body works we do a lot of projects in there and you can say some of them some of the pictures that they are one of the favorites is down at the bottom and is learning how to do stitches and weight they were stitching on bananas we have done pigs feet before Medical Therapeutics is another one of the classes in the healthcare pathlight it is more of a Hands-On class and it's really to try to prepare you to work in the healthcare field being able to as you can see the picture drawing blood taking blood pressures and doing much much more if this we learn a lot of medical algae and things like that that you will made and prepare you if you would like to be able to take the medical assistant test this is us some pictures from our clinical internship that we were able to start this year we partnered with Chota and Chota allowed us to send as students who is there wear scrubs and participate help in any way they could and we hoped for the spring session that we can grow that the opportunities that we can send our students and maybe to Sweetwater hospital or an eye doctor's office or veterinarian office but with this whole covid-19 we're just kind of slowly holding on and sing so one of the goals of the health science program is that we can certify as men Health Science student says we can be a certified medical assistant so we'll do all we can to prepare you for that and you will have that certification before you even graduate so this is Alex Azar Healthcare robot he is the best patient ever he does sometimes talk back but most the time it's okay he is actually linked to my computer and he can be many different people different he can have different conditions he has a blood pressure of pulse you can do a CPR on him at is hooked to the Internet so if he does not know the answer to a question he will search the internet for it he actually has a pulse if you feel blood pressure you can check it out. he has a lot of different features a lot of different people and he took up to computer help us music arms that are different that we can change out where you can draw blood off of but if he doesn't know the answer to a question he actually is hooked to the internet and he will start and figure it out because there's a lot of fun in a lot about can you stop talking about five of her classes and I've learned so much just help me in another type of Life biology project wait to draw blood in there School PHS for little over five years I'm a graduate from Tellico Plains High School have a bachelor degree in finance from Tennessee Wesleyan College and you be a formation NC State and teaching certification from Tusculum one school year I'll be teaching Banking and Finance in office management Pima class we do a lot of project-based learning we cannot use this often we learn by researching and creating and Banking and finance we learn characteristics of business and economics accounting and making laws it's not boring like it sounds this year we are using a food truck to reinforce everything we learn in class if we learn something about Finance we used to food truck at our base and learn how to finance that project my other program of study is office management I take School enrollment classes in this area you're allowed to take college classes your Junior and Senior year minor talk through Cleveland State score years and I really think you should take it Humane Society super fun I've been in this S-Class for 30 years and I think he should take it because I learned a lot in this class and I had fun while doing their jobs available in my programs of study up until the year 2028 he's our numbers for the state of Tennessee I hope to see you in my class thanks
