Library
Coker Creek Library is only staffed with a part-time librarian. The Coker Creek Library is open on Tuesday and Wednesday in which it serves 105 students for 45 minutes sessions. All of our books are computerized. Students should return their books every week when they come to the library. If books are returned damaged or lost the student is responsible for paying the cost of that book and also if a barcode is peeled off or damaged the student will pay the cost.
I’m very proud to have the Accelerated Reader program on-line. It’s now called Renaissance Place. This program encourages students to read more books. Every time a student reads an AR book they can take a test on the book and the student will earn points toward their year-end prize. Also, parents can check up on their children’s reading points and see what they have been doing. All you need is Internet and an Email address. To check it out just click on the Renaissance Place link above. Yearly goals are- Kindergarten – 5 points, 1st grade 10 points, 2nd and 3rd grades 20 points, 4th and 5th grades 30 points and 6th, 7th and 8th grade 50 points. When a student reaches their goal for the year the school’s PTO will offer gifts to the students.
